Rainbow Bridge

At Blastem, every journey begins with a heart — and some hearts leave pawprints so deep they shape everything that follows. Our Rainbow Bridge page is dedicated to the foundation dogs who built our program, our passion, and our purpose.

These were not just show dogs. Not just titles. Not just pedigrees.

They were our first hopes, our learning curves, our late nights, our early mornings, and the steady, loyal presence that turned a dream into a legacy. They taught us about structure and instinct, about patience and perseverance — but more than anything, they taught us devotion.

Every champion we celebrate today, every puppy we welcome into the world, and every family that joins the Blastem community carries a piece of them forward. Their influence lives on in our lines, in our standards, and in the way we care for every dog that carries the Blastem name.

This page is our tribute — to the dogs who laid the foundation, who trusted us completely, and who will forever remain part of our story.

Run free, sweet souls.
You built something beautiful.

Blastem's On A Roll Zeva "Zeva"

Zeva was taken from us far too soon in a tragic hit and run while out doing what she loved most — hunting.

She was driven in the field, loyal at our side, and woven deeply into our foundation and future. Her loss is immeasurable, but so is the mark she left on our hearts and our program.

Run hard and free, sweet girl. You will always be part of us.

Bydandacres Dallas Stephens CGN, CDX, WC "Dallas"

Dallas was our foundation dog — the girl who started it all for Blastem.

She came into our lives after a flipped canoe while hunting changed everything. What could have been the end of a chapter instead became the beginning of our program. From that day forward, Dallas was our cornerstone — steady, capable, and endlessly loyal.

She was more than a hunting partner. She was resilience, heart, and the quiet strength that shaped our standards and our future.

Because of Dallas, Blastem began.

Her legacy will always run through everything we do.

CanGCH Blastem's Remington Super Mag CD RI JH WC CGN CCA "Remi"

Remi was our all-around boy — the kind of dog every program hopes to have once in a lifetime.

He shined in the show ring with presence and confidence, yet was just as happy in the field doing what he was bred to do. He embodied versatility, proving that beauty and purpose can exist in perfect balance.

Remi gave us proud moments under the lights and unforgettable days outdoors. More than the ribbons or the hunts, he gave us his whole heart.

A true dual-purpose soul, and a forever part of Blastem.

Blastem's Daisy Duke "Daisy"

Daisy found her way back to us through unforeseen circumstances — and once she was home, she never left again.

She spent the rest of her life with my parents, where she was cherished, spoiled, and exactly where she was meant to be. Daisy’s journey may not have been the one originally planned, but it was filled with love, comfort, and family.

She reminded us that sometimes the greatest gift we can give our dogs is simply a safe place to land.

Forever loved, sweet Daisy.

CanCH Sterre Blast'em Widgeon Widget CGN CD WC "Widget"

Widget was the loud mouth of the house — and she made sure everyone knew it. She greeted every new person with enthusiasm, always ready to say hello and happily insert her two cents into any conversation. Her voice was part of our daily soundtrack, and the house has never quite sounded the same without it.

A die-hard retrieving dog, she lived for the chase and the return, driven by heart and pure love of the work.

Big personality, bigger spirit.
Run free, Widget.

Can CH Verdoro's Juke Box Hero "Jeff"

Jeff came to us later in life, an older boy entrusted to us by a fellow breeder. From the moment he arrived, he carried himself with quiet dignity. He was the strong, silent type — steady, observant, and deeply loyal without ever needing the spotlight. Jeff didn’t demand attention; he simply was — a calm presence, a solid soul, a gentleman through and through. Though our time with him came in his later years, he was no less important to our story. He reminded us that every chapter, no matter when it begins, can leave a lasting mark.

Rest easy, sweet Jeff.
